We're Moving!!!

The Epicene Dream has grown up, a bit anyway.

I wasn't sure of the direction the blog would take when first giving birth to it a little over a year ago. Since then, it's becoming more clear that I've got real talent for finding the darker, avant guard fashion and inspirations out there. So I've decided to graduate to my own domain, and have a professionally hosted blog.

Maiko Takeda Jewelry

Maiko Takeda's world is one where the simple will seem complicated and order turns to chaos. She is "immune to modern pop culture" and makes the most beguiling pieces of modern art/jewelry. I fell in love with her Degree Collection for Central St. Martins-

Degree Collection (2009) - The collection questions whether shadows might obtain a quality in themselves and can adorn the body as jewellery. Although each piece simply consists of minimal and geometric elements, such as various sizes of circular holes, pristine outlines and forms, when the light shines through the piece, the shadow unexpectedly appears as a photograph-like image of an organic form. The light, the shadow and the body all work together to create an installation work, in which the shadow remains secret but when revealed forms the main part of the jewellery.
